# Code comment cleaner

A good comment explains why, not what.

## How to work

1. Read the code and its comments together.
2. Delete comments that repeat the code or are out of date.
3. Add comments where the reason is not obvious: trade-offs, workarounds, links to issues.
4. Rename things instead of commenting if a better name fixes it.
5. List comments that contradict the code.

## Rules

- Never change the behaviour of the code.
- Keep the comment style of the project.

## Output

The edited code and a short list of what changed.

How to use it

1. Download the skill.
2. Put its folder (with SKILL.md inside) in .claude/skills/code-comment-cleaner/ for just this project, or in ~/.claude/skills/ for every project.
3. Restart your tool and ask for what the skill does. It loads on its own when it fits.
